Future Serial Killers of America?

People who abuse animals infuriate me as much as people who abuse other human beings. Anyone who thinks it’s amusing or funny to harm an innocent creature incapable of defending itself deserves to be named and shamed, in my not-so-humble opinion.

This holiday weekend, I’m thoroughly disgusted by two idiots who decided to get their jollies by beating to death a deer that had already been shot.

I’m an animal lover, and while I couldn’t shoot a defenseless animal unless I was starving and on the verge of death, I come from an area where hunting is common, and I don’t have an issue with it (not that it matters). Normal (read: not psychotic) hunters aim to kill their prey immediately, so as not to let them suffer. Hunters are generally respectful of the animals they hunt.

In this case, however, two high school-age boys are seen on camera beating the living hell out of a deer that has already been shot. I’ll share a link to the original Facebook post with the video, but it’s EXTREMELY disturbing, so consider yourself warned.

The boys, Cody Hetrick and Alex Smith, of Brookville, Pennsylvania (I will happily name them), thought it would be fun to kick the injured deer in the face, rip off its antlers, and step on its throat. WHILE THE DEER WAS STILL ALIVE.

Hilarious, right?

What are the odds these pieces of human garbage will go on to hurt people? Pretty high, actually.
