Missing Amish Girl in Pennsylvania

I hate missing person cases. I feel so sorry for the family and friends of the person missing and my mind works overtime trying to figure out what might have happened.

In my hometown of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, one such case is dominating the local headlines, and news of the disappearance is starting to make headlines across the country. On Sunday, June 21, 18-year-old Linda Stoltzfoos was last seen at church. She never made it home, and authorities say she could be at risk for harm or injury. [1]

For the third day, more than 350 first responders and volunteers are searching for the young Amish girl. They have already scoured hundreds of acres in a two-mile radius in the quaint farming community. On Wednesday, they focused their attention on a smaller area with trained personnel.

Linda Stoltzfoos was last seen around 12:30 p.m. at a farm on Stumptown Road. [2] The Amish do not have church buildings; they attend church at each other’s homes. When Stoltzfoos failed to return home after church, her parents became concerned and called the police.

Family and friends say it was out of character for Stoltzfoos to leave without telling someone where she was going.
