Even if you don’t know the story behind the murder of 45-year-old Texas wife and mother Missy Bevers, you’ve probably seen the absolutely bone-chilling CCTV footage associated with it.

In the pre-dawn hours of April 18, 2016, surveillance video from inside the Creekside Church of Christ in Midlothian, Texas, caught the image of a person clad in police-type tactical clothing wandering around the building, looking inside rooms, carrying what appeared to be a hammer or similar type of weapon.

The individual had a very distinctive gait. Many have wondered whether the person in the video might be a woman due to the way they walked.

Whoever it was in the video is believed to be the same person who killed Missy Bevers. Yet, five years later, that person’s identity is still unknown.

Who killed Missy, and why?

Jacksboro, Texas, native Terri “Missy” Bevers, was an instructor for a national fitness movement called Camp Gladiator. [1] Fit and muscular, Missy and her husband of 18 years, Brandon Bevers, were the proud parents of three daughters — Allie, Hannah, and Sarah. [2]

After Brandon and Missy married in June 1998, Missy went back to school and started working as a teaching assistant. [3] She soon took a job working in special education.

After the couple’s children were born, Missy switched careers and became a fitness instructor.

Brandon and Missy were both people of great faith, but they were human and had very real struggles. [2] Their marriage was troubled and their finances were in tatters. It has been reported that Missy was having multiple affairs. [3] Brandon, too, was rumored to have been having affairs, as well.
