The Death of Andrew Sadek: Murder or Suicide?
The death of a young person in their prime is always tragic, but the death of Andrew Sadek was tragic for another reason: The country’s insane marijuana laws may have played a role in the college student’s demise. Whether Sadek was murdered or committed suicide, he paid a high price for selling a few small flower buds.
Andrew Sadek was your typical college kid. Prior to starting school at North Dakota State College of Science, he was a happy-go-lucky teenager at Valley City High School in Valley City, North Dakota. According to the young man’s parents, he was never a troublemaker and he was a kind, polite person who was respectful of authority.
Sadek was a second-year student at DCSC, where he was studying electrical engineering. He planned to pursue a master’s degree after graduation, but those dreams fell by the wayside in 2013 when Sadek started selling small amounts of cannabis on campus. At two points, Sadek sold an undercover informant about $80 worth of weed, and that’s when the wheels fell off the 20-year-old man’s life.
